The Creaking Tree String Quartet
Original instrumental music, performed by 4 virtuoso players from Toronto.  Awesome music and great guys too.    A LOT of fun to pick with.

An incredible neo-traditional Celtic band from Edinburgh, Scotland.  I met these fine folks at the Shetland Folk Festival - an event that you should attend if there is any possible way to do it.

Karine Polwart
One of the finest singers I've had the honor to meet and play music with.  She's from Edinburgh, Scotland, and your life is not complete until you've heard this woman sing.

Ivan Rosenberg
One of the premier resonator guitarist around these days.  Now based out of Weaverville, North Carolina, he's the next big thing.  check him out!

Chris Stuart and Back Country
Some great friends of mine from southern California.  Writers some of the best original songs around, and just flat out clean, well performed music.  If you get a chance to catch one of their shows...Do it!

Eric Thorin
Monster bass man that can play everything from Salsa to Bill Monroe.  LIving in Lyons, Colorado, Eric is a major part of the Front Range music scene.  Check him out on Open Road recordings.

Festivals & Organizations

Livingston Hoot
A free community concert in the streets of downtown Livingston, Montana, once a summer.  The 2014 Hoot featured the music of John Derado and Rodney Crowell, with guests Bill Payne, Steuart Smith and John Mayer.

Real Fine Music
Some real fine folks doing a real fine job of bringing musicians from the U.S. and Europe to play in Germany, Switzerland, France and the Czech Republic.  Czech out their site!

Fishin' Musician Camp
A three day/four night experience in the mountains of Montana every June and July.  It combines acoustic music instruction from nationally known musicians and world class fly fishing!  Too Cool!

Big Sky Big Grass
A great festival held every year in February at the Big Sky resort in Montana.  Many national bands, skiing, and great picking!

Sore Fingers Summer School
A wonderful week-long school in the Cotswold area of England.  It usually happens around Easter, and is an experience like no other.

Shetland Folk Festival
Held in Lerwick, Shetland.  This Festival lasts 5 days, and has top notch acoustic music from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the North American continent.  If you go, you will never forget it!!!  Tremendous!!!

A wonderful website for learning Bluegrass tunes and songs from the pros, no matter what instrument you play.  Check it out, it's really cool!

This is the only place you need to go to find out what's going on with the Bluegrass scene in the United Kingdom.  A brilliant site!  Check it out.
